When you decide to go to therapy, you bring your entire self, including intersectional identities, life history, and poignant relationships, to each session. I have the privilege to meet you, human to human, and witness just a small part of who you are in our time together. I will offer genuine curiosity, engaged dialog, and gentle questioning. You are the expert of your own life, and I am here to provide a compassionate and judgement-free space where we can partner together to support your growth, healing, and self-awareness.
I welcome clients of all genders, races, countries of origins, sexual orientations,
religions, abilities, and body sizes.
I'm a NYC-based therapist, social worker, queer lesbian, Korean transracial adoptee, and IVF Mama. My areas of practice are often informed by my own identities and experiences.
Outside of my therapy practice, I work full-time in higher education, supporting first generation, BIPOC, and immigrant students with access to essential needs such as food, housing, and financial grants.
I am currently accepting new clients for virtual sessions. I’m humbled by the opportunity to work together, and I look forward to hearing from you.
If you decide you’d like to work with me, our virtual therapy sessions can occur either weekly or biweekly and will be 45 minutes long.
Although I am open to working with clients in a wide variety of areas, including life transitions, relationships, job stress, women's issues, and anxiety and depression, you can read more about my more focused specializations below.
In addition to my own identity as a transracial adoptee, I worked in the field of adoption for several years, supporting adoptees through counseling, advocacy, and mentorship. Topics we might explore include search and reunion, transracial identity, and cultural connections. I will honor wherever you are in your adoptee journey. I can hold space for any grief and loss you may be experiencing, as well as offer practice insight and resources that might support your exploration.
If you are in the process of exploring your sexuality and/or gender identity, navigating family relationships during your coming out experience (which can be a lifelong journey), or just want to know you will be affirmed wholeheartedly in a therapeutic space, I am here. Together, we'll explore how your identity shapes your experiences and help you cultivate a deeper understanding and acceptance of yourself.
If you are preparing to, or are currently family building, either solo or in a partnership, and are finding it may not be as straightforward as you thought, having a safe place to share your frustrations and grieve expectations is important. I have deep empathy for anyone struggling with infertility and know how isolating it can be. I also have firsthand knowledge of Advanced Reproductive Technology treatments including In Vitro Fertilization (IVF). You don’t have to go through this alone.
Certain life experiences such as miscarriage, divorce, or the death of a loved one, can leave us feeling isolated, overwhelmed, and hopeless. Having a safe space to process these feelings can provide us with the breathing room we need to begin moving through the loss, which is necessary for us to start the healing journey. I offer a caring presence and genuine curiosity to understand how your experience of loss has affected you and can help you discover the resilience you likely already possess.
I have enjoyed supporting emerging adults in their 20’s in a variety of non-profit and higher education settings throughout my professional career. If you need a safe and non-judgmental place to discuss building your career, relationships, moving away from family, etc., I welcome you to contact me.
I have had the privilege of supporting adolescents who are exploring their identity, whether it is related to their adoption, sexuality, or gender, and would love to continue this work. "Ready to Launch" adolescents include those who are 16 and older and are open to therapy. I will work closely alongside parents to ensure a collaborative approach to care, while maintaining the privacy of what is discussed in sessions with the adolescent.

In instances where out-of-network benefits are covered, you will be responsible for payment at the time of service and your insurance will reimburse your expenses.
Insurance companies often require a diagnosis and may seek access to your health records while in therapy. They also may limit your coverage to a set number of therapy sessions per year, regardless of the support you need. For some people, paying out-of-pocket may feel like a better fit. Please reach out if you’d like to discuss this further.
